Clarisse Hart (pictured to the right) provided students, in advance, with a packet of beautiful and thought-provoking writing by New England authors in preparation for her evening writing seminar. Students began the session by engaging with Ms. Hart's lecture on New England authors and poets. They then discussed and interpreted the assigned prose and poetry, thinking critically about the role of literary tropes and speakers' voices on each student's interpretation of a piece.
After a break for free-writing and dinner, students reconvened with Clarisse Hart to workshop one another's poetry and short stories. In the seminar's supportive atmosphere, students provided one another with commendations as well as suggestions for possible improvement. |
